DPC’s strategic vision is to be the heart of the government, which has more than one meaning. As the lead agency for the South Australian public sector, DPC supports the Premier, Ministers and Cabinet by developing and collaborating on policy and delivering programs to realise the government’s vision for South Australia.

Changes to the agency

During 2022-23 there were the following changes to the agency’s structure and objectives as a result of internal reviews or machinery of government changes:

  • Aboriginal Affairs and Reconciliation transferred to the Attorney-General’s Department on 1 July 2022
  • Establishment of the Office for Autism.

Premier’s Delivery Unit

The Premier’s Delivery Unit is an independent office established on 14 April 2022 to oversee the delivery of identified SA Government priorities, including all election commitments. The Office of the Premier’s Delivery Unit is led by Chief Executive, Mr Rik Morris, who reports to the Premier. The Premier’s Delivery Unit produces an independent Annual Report.

Office of the South Australian Productivity Commission

The South Australian Productivity Commission (SAPC) was established on 22 October 2018 and is supported by the Office of the South Australian Productivity Commission (OSAPC), attached to DPC. The OSAPC is led by Chief Executive, Mr Steve Whetton who reports to the Premier. The OSAPC is an independent body that makes recommendations to the government to facilitate productivity growth, unlock new economic opportunities, support job creation and remove existing regulatory barriers. The OSAPC produces an independent Annual Report.

Infrastructure SA

Led by Chief Executive, Mr Jeremy Conway, Infrastructure SA (ISA) was established on 26 November 2018 under the Infrastructure SA Act 2018 and is an independent advisory body. The ISA provides independent expert advice to government on the planning, management and delivery of major capital investment over $50 million. The ISA combines the expertise of the private and public sectors to develop a state infrastructure strategy to grow the economy, support local jobs and meet the needs of communities across South Australia. ISA produces an independent Annual Report.

State Governor’s Establishment

The State Governor’s Establishment supports the Governor of South Australia.
