The Department of the Premier and Cabinet is responsible for providing policy guidance to help the South Australian Government protect its people, information and assets from compromise or harm.

Through the South Australian Protective Security Framework (SAPSF), it provides policy requirements and guidance for South Australian government agencies to implement and maintain effective protective security processes and procedures that identify and manage risk, promote continuous improvement to security capability and maturity, and that foster a positive security culture throughout the South Australian public sector.

The SAPSF incorporates relevant South Australian security policies in the areas of governance (GOVSEC), information security (INFOSEC), personal security (PERSEC), physical security (PHYSEC) and cyber security, and provides tailored guidance and resources for the South Australian context.

Information about the SAPSF, the South Australian Cyber Security Framework, National Security Clearances and reporting security incidents, is available from the Security SA website.
