The state government has established the Office for Autism to improve outcomes for autistic individuals in South Australia.

Through the development of policies and initiatives that support access, awareness, opportunity, connection and belonging, the Office for Autism is working towards creating an autism friendly state where autistic individuals can live great lives, and their families and communities are supported and valued.

The Office for Autism will achieve positive change by:

  • supporting increased knowledge and understanding of autism
  • fostering greater connection and belonging for autistic individuals, their families and communities
  • collaborating with government to action the Autism Strategy and Charter
  • proactively partnering with the broader community and private sector to create access and meaningful opportunity.

Led by an autistic director, the Office for Autism will promote positive change that is informed by lived experience and reflects community need.

Further information is available from the Office for Autism website.
