The State Crisis Centre supports effective and coordinated decision making within the executive government of South Australia during or following a significant threat or emergency incident.

During a major emergency or disaster, the Premier or the State Crisis Centre Executive may activate the State Crisis Centre to support Ministerial oversight of the event.

The State Crisis Centre provides a coordination point for advice and executive decisions on matters affecting state government responsibilities. It is also responsible for strategic communication both within the state government and with the Commonwealth, and state and territory governments.

The State Crisis Centre links with the National Situation Room to share information and seek/offer support as required.
