A message from the Chief Executive

Acknowledgement of Country

We acknowledge this land. The Dreaming is still living. From the past, in the present, into the future, forever.

It’s been my privilege to lead the talented and purposeful staff of the Department of the Premier and Cabinet during the 2022-23 financial year.

The Department of the Premier and Cabinet (DPC) has been central to leading community focussed policies and projects and partnering with agencies to deliver a major program agenda to attract investment in our state.

The implementation of DPC’s Strategic Direction 2022-25 on 10 November 2022 was the culmination of a department-wide collaboration to shape us for the future. This is an organisation that is ambitious and determined to make a difference, and our Strategic Direction is our roadmap to connect and deliver on our key priorities.

In my first full financial year as Chief Executive, we have worked hard to uphold our responsibilities as a central agency. We have also taken steps to further strengthen our workplace culture by celebrating diversity and inclusion with South Australia’s first Multicultural Charter, launched on 9 March 2023, to recognise where we have come from, where we are now, and where we want to go as an inclusive multicultural society.

We continue to develop our awareness and deepen our understanding of the historical and current issues that affect our First Nations communities, affirming our department’s commitment to working towards lasting and genuine reconciliation with the Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan 2023-26 (RAP).

Thank you to each and every member of DPC. Your outstanding achievements are outlined in this report. I look forward to how we can continue to shape DPC for the future and make a difference to the lives of South Australians in 2024 and beyond.
