A State Proclamation Ceremony for the accession of His Majesty The King took place at 2pm on Sunday 11 September 2022 on the steps of Parliament House.
Hosted by the state government, the ceremony gave South Australians the opportunity to come together to acknowledge the historic moment the Governor of South Australia, Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC, proclaimed His Majesty The King as the state's new Sovereign.
Members of the public were welcome to attend, with public transport free all day.
The State Proclamation Ceremony was live-streamed for those unable to attend.
