Now is the time to nominate an individual, team or organisation whose efforts strengthen the harmony and prosperity of our state for the Governor's Multicultural Awards – and help share their story.

These annual awards celebrate outstanding South Australians who promote multiculturalism and increase understanding of the benefits of cultural diversity in our community.

This year, nominations are open in 10 award categories acknowledging the broad spectrum of contributions enriching our state:

  • Outstanding Individual Achievement Award
  • Regional Achievement Award (new in 2025)
  • Arts and Culture Award
  • Community Sector Award
  • Media Award
  • Private Sector Award
  • Public Sector Award
  • Volunteer Award
  • Senior Volunteer Award
  • Youth Award.

A Regional Achievement Award has been introduced this year to increase recognition for outstanding contributions to multiculturalism across our regional communities.

South Australians can recognise a regional nominee in two ways:

  • by submitting a direct nomination into the Regional Achievement Award category, or
  • by nominating them in any of the nine other categories – eligible regional nominees will automatically be considered in both their original category and the Regional Achievement Award.

The addition of this award, dedicated to individuals, teams and organisations based outside Greater Adelaide, reflects the important role of regional communities in shaping our state’s multicultural identity.

Nominations close 11pm on Sunday 28 September 2025, with winners announced in a ceremony at Government House in March 2026.
