Congratulations to the winners of the 2022 Governor’s Multicultural Awards.

9 winners of the 2022 Governor's Multicultural Awards with their trophies and the Governor of South Australia

Outstanding South Australians who have promoted multiculturalism and increased understanding of the benefits of cultural diversity in our community have been recognised at the presentation of the 2022 Governor’s Multicultural Awards.

Winners were announced at a small award ceremony at Government House on Thursday 9 March 2023.

The awards were presented by Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC, Governor of South Australia, on the advice of an independent judging panel.

Nine award recipients were chosen from 21 finalists across nine award categories:

  • Outstanding Individual Achievement Award: Mr Volodymyr Tkachuk
  • Arts and Culture Award: Mr Elyas Alavi
  • Community Sector Award: Multicultural Program Swimming Instructors, Royal Life Saving Society of South Australia
  • Media Award: Production Team, ABC Radio Adelaide Afternoons Show
  • Private Sector Award: Ms Madeeha Usman
  • Public Sector Award: Mr Merv Yazarloo
  • Volunteer Award: Mr Jon Thurlow
  • Senior Volunteer Award: Dr Devendra K Kulshrestha
  • Youth Award: Mr Ackim Mulumba.
