South Australia’s Closer Productions presented its new series, Eat The Invaders earlier this month, with an exciting and entertaining new format that showcases the diverse talents and capability of our screen sector.

Made by our state’s very own Matthew Bate, Writer/Director, and Rebecca Summerton, Executive Producer, the production utilises South Australian crew, with all post-production done in the state.

The six-episode factual series is hosted by Tony Armstrong and aims to turn environmental challenges into opportunities. It features scientists, land carers, an artist, and a chef, who work together to transform ecological pests like cane toads, camels, carp, cats, deer, and rabbits into culinary delights.

Eat The Invaders is proudly supported by the South Australian Film Corporation (SAFC) through the ABC SAFC Content Pipeline Fund which continues to bolster our state’s screen industry supporting over 300 jobs and injecting $21.8 million into the state’s economy since February 2023.
