The 93rd edition of South Australia’s National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant brought a dazzling celebration of magic and joy to more than 300,000 spectators lining the streets of Adelaide on Saturday 8 November.

Multicultural Affairs was proud to once again host the ‘Shaping our Wonderful World’ float, featuring participation from five community groups showcasing their culture as part the largest public parade in the southern hemisphere.

Diverse traditions and stories from across every continent were celebrated though a combination of dance movements, vibrant costumes, and Christmas greetings translated into multiple languages.

Led by an energetic performance from the Chinatown Adelaide Dragon Dance Group, the float carried and was followed by community members of all age groups from:

  • Association of the Romanian Community of South Australia
  • Auseklītis - Adelaide's Latvian folk dancing group
  • Malaysia Club of South Australia
  • Pacific Islands Council of South Australia
  • Querencia Venezuela Dance Group.

Thank you to all who participated!

More than 80 different countries have been represented as part of Multicultural Affairs’ involvement in the Pageant since the original ‘Christmas Around the World’ float was first introduced in 2004.
