The State Government has introduced a series of measures as part of its commitment to improving housing outcomes for people in South Australia.

This includes:

  • abolishment of the stamp duty for thousands of eligible first home buyers building or buying a new home
  • largest ever land release for new homes, which is expected to open the door for more than 50,000 South Australians both north and south of the city
  • more rights for renters, including more affordable bonds and a ban on rent bidding to help ease soaring rental prices.

A state-wide public education campaign started on 15 June, with the key objective of creating awareness among first home buyers, renters and the broader community about the new measures and their purpose.
