The state’s best digital innovators were recognised last Thursday at the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) 2018 SA iAwards gala dinner.
Event attendees were treated to showcases of inspiring work across categories of Infrastructure & Platforms, Start-up of the Year, Students, Consumer Markets, Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning, Research & Development, Public Sector & Government and the SA Premier’s iAward.
The SA Premier’s iAward was presented in recognition of exemplary digital innovation within the public sector. Congratulations to the Department of Human Services on winning both the SA Premier’s iAward 2018 and the Public Sector and Government Awards for their Continuous Monitoring Background Screening in SA project.
Through this project, the South Australian Screening Unit introduced a continuous monitoring system for employment screenings to make our communities safer. The system allows criminal, child protection, misconduct and disciplinary information about screened persons to be continuously monitored, shared and actioned in real time. Registered employers and volunteer organisations can now check a person’s clearance status through the secure web portal.
All winning entrants will now compete at the National iAwards to be held in Melbourne on 30 August 2018.
