Global Accessibility Awareness Day was held 16 May and to coincide with this important event, the South Australian Government has launched its new Online Accessibility Policy and Toolkit at accessibility.sa.gov.au.
Already, the policy and toolkit have received global recognition for their best practice approach, and been endorsed nationally by Vision Australia, the Royal Society for the Blind and a range of other accessibility organisations.
The policy and toolkit have been developed to assist organisations (public, private and not for profit) to make their digital platforms more accessible. The toolkit contains a wealth of resources, support and advice on visual design, content, user experience, development and project management.
Both resources have been developed in consultation with leading accessibility specialists, government, the community, not for profit organisations and the private sector.
