AustCyber and Ribit recently hosted Cyber Connect, a business-to-student speed networking event at the University of Adelaide.
The cyber industry is booming so rapidly that the skilled workforce requires a substantial boost in numbers to meet industry needs.
Cyber Connect provided South Australian university students and recent graduates the opportunity to engage with industry representatives and discuss career pathways and employment opportunities in a relaxed environment.
Cyber Connect was attended by more than 70 students and graduates, and 15 employers, kicking off with presentations by each business before moving into a curated speed interviewing session and concluding with informal networking.
Some students were able to secure part-time jobs and internships through the event, contributing to South Australia’s future cyber talent pipeline.
It is anticipated that another Cyber Connect event will be held in 2020 to continue to match candidates with potential employers.
