The Justice and Legislative Reform Cabinet Committee (JLRCC), chaired by the Attorney General, drives the development and implementation of the government’s commitment to reforms in the justice portfolio and scrutinises, from a whole of government perspective, the legislative and regulatory implications of major initiatives.

JLRCC considers items relating to:

  • reform of the state’s justice system, including law enforcement, crime reduction and the corrections system
  • wider legislative implications of major initiatives, projects and reforms, and
  • intergovernmental implications of initiatives that require significant legislative or regulatory reform, including the relationship between state and national reforms.

JLRCC also monitors the status of key commitments and initiatives in the areas of justice and legislative reform.

The Criminal Justice Sector Reform Council, also chaired by the Attorney General operates as a sub-committee of JLRCC.
