As part of Illuminate Adelaide, the Adelaide Festival of Ideas has returned in 2021 to explore the theme of ‘Bright Future’.
Hosted by the University of Adelaide on their North Terrace campus, and supported by the Government of South Australia, the festival will turn a spotlight on leaders and concepts shaping today’s world.
Visitors can engage with leading thinkers and trailblazers in the areas of social impact, sustainability, innovation, culture, equality and our place in a world reshaped by extraordinary upheaval.
Guest curators for this year’s festival are Yuwallarai writer/journalist and Aboriginal advocate, Kirstie Parker, Head of Humanities at the South Australian Museum, Prof John Carty, and 2021 Young Australian of the Year, Isobel Marshall.
The festival includes panels, forums, lectures and special events and launches on Thursday 15 July and runs through to Sunday 18 July.
