Objective: ensure the Adelaide Festival Centre Trust’s newly redeveloped venues, including Her Majesty’s Theatre, enable it to take collaboration with our major performing arts companies to a new level.

March 2020 update

Conversations have begun with key sector stakeholders in addition to the implementation of sector meetings outlined in recommendation 5.2. It is noted that the Adelaide Festival Centre Trust and home companies are in discussion to consider protocols and procedures to enhance sector understanding and collaboration.

AFC Trustees have agreed to consider proposed Strategic Partnership Agreements with the Home Companies and report on progress to the sector meetings hosted by Arts South Australia.

June 2020 update

Discussion between key sector stakeholders is progressing, with the sector meetings hosted by Arts South Australia supporting the delivery of this project.

Accepted - We will work with all stakeholders to implement this recommendation.

January 2020 update

Adelaide Festival Centre Trust hosted a meeting with the Board Chairs of sector organisations on 18 November 2019. We will continue to work with the Adelaide Festival Centre Trust and the sector, developing an agreed framework including attendees, agendas and meeting frequency to build better relationships between stakeholders, to optimise the use of Adelaide Festival Centre facilities for all parties.

March 2020 update 

On 30 January 2020, a second meeting was hosted by Arts South Australia, welcoming the engagement and support from the sector. The sector is collaborating to better understand their respective strategic challenges and to utilise these meetings to foster cohesion and harness strategic opportunities.

June 2020 update

The sector meetings are continuing, with members developing the group’s purpose and meeting framework to inform future activity.

The meetings are supporting the big picture, sector ecology and visionary conversations between the members, as well as progressing the operational aspects of collaboration, as outlined in recommendation 5.1.
