Congratulations to the winners of the 2020 Premier’s Excellence Awards for their outstanding dedication and service to the South Australian community.

The Premier’s Excellence Awards recognise public sector individuals and teams who have delivered exceptional outcomes for South Australia, through exemplary services and consistently demonstrating the Public Sector Values.

The winners were selected from high-calibre entries across the public sector’s 107,000-strong workforce.

A new category – Excellence in Service Delivery: Emergency Response – was added to the Awards’ program to highlight the public sector’s efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic and the devastating bushfires of 2019-20.

The Awards, held at the Adelaide Convention Centre on Tuesday, 6 April 2021, celebrated and acknowledged the important work of 18 finalists across six categories, with finalists from across 14 South Australian Government departments.

Individual: Kate Tyrell, Central Adelaide Local Health Network

Excellence in service delivery: Emergency response

Individual: Mark Turra, SA Pathology

Team: Medi-hotel Quarantine Program, cross-agency partnership
