Our Public Art and Design grants program is now open, inviting organisations to apply for funding to support new works of art and design, by professional practicing South Australian artists, for public places.

In this grant round, both Project Seed and Commission Support Funding categories will be available.

Project Seed Funding

Project Seed Funding supports professional practicing South Australian artists to develop public works of art in our communities.

Recently, Project Seed Funding helped the City of Marion create the Woodlands Tower 2019, by artists Matt Fortose and Dave Court for the redevelopment of the Railway Terrace Road Reserve near the Woodlands Park Railway Station.

Commission Support Funding

Commission Support Funding is available to assist organisations and agencies to approach professional practicing South Australian artists to develop new public art pieces for spaces throughout South Australia.

Last year, Commission Support Funding also helped the City of Marion create Dig and Delve by artists Laura Wills and Will Cheeseman. The striking oversized spade stands balanced in the ground at Hendrie Street Inclusive Playspace, Park Holme, representing the local agriculture, river life and village settlement.

We encourage community groups, organisations (including South Australian Government funded arts and cultural organisations) and Local and State Government agencies to apply.
