From today, thousands of South Australian households can access their share of $100m in State Government subsidies and $100m in finance provided by the Clean Energy Finance Corporation to help pay for a home battery system.
The Home Battery Schemeis available to 40,000 households overcome the up-front cost of investing in a battery and solar.
The subsidy is available to all South Australians households, and calculated on the kilowatt hour capacity of the battery purchased. Furthermore, Energy Concession Holders are eligible for a higher subsidy, ensuring low-income households are supported to access the Scheme.
While the subsidy will vary depending on the size of the battery, it is capped for everyone at a maximum of $6,000 per battery installed.
Lending company RateSetter has been chosen to administer the subsidy and finance on behalf of the Government of South Australia.
