State Cabinet will travel to the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands this Sunday for a series of meetings with community leaders, residents and organisations.

The three day visit is part of the Country Cabinet program for 2017 and will provide a number of opportunities for locals to speak with ministers and Departmental Chief Executives about the issues affecting them.

The Cabinet will also meet with the newly appointed APY Executive Board.

A community forum and barbecue will be held in Umuwa on 1 May. Ministers will also travel across the APY Lands to meet with local communities and visit schools, health clinics and community services facilities.

Country Cabinet meetings were reinstated in 2014 as part of the Charter for Stronger Regional Policy, an agreement between Premier Jay Weatherill and Minister for Regional Development, Geoff Brock.
