The State Government’s annual red tape repeal day will be held in August this year and will focus on cutting unnecessary red tape and removing outdated and redundant legislation.

Business owners and the community are being encouraged to put forward ideas for change that will remove obsolete, cumbersome and counterproductive rules and administrative procedures that hinder growth, investment and innovation in the South Australian economy.

Anyone can have their say by joining online discussions about a number of topics including process duplication and streamlining regulation.

These comments will then be discussed with industry and other interested groups to work out the best way forward. Cabinet approval will then be sought to amend or abolish laws which are counterproductive to business or redundant. The aim is to introduce legislation that cuts red tape in Parliament during August 2017.
