The Department of Premier and Cabinet is aware of recent incorrect public claims regarding the processing of urgent payments to employees.

Shared Services SA has not, and does not, charge employees any fee whatsoever for processing urgent payments.

Where pay cycle errors occur due to incorrect or late paperwork or other reasons, and funds are requested by an employee to be processed urgently, Shared Services SA processes a next-day payment, free of charge.

The form referred to in the incorrect claims was a proposed policy from several years ago that considered charging departments – not employees – a $65 fee for instances where late or incorrect paperwork resulted in an employee requiring an urgent payment.

The policy was never put in place, and the form is redundant.
