Two popular French graphic designers have visited Adelaide to kick off the first-ever French Artist-In-Residence program in South Australia.
The Office of the French Strategy in DPC supported the initiative, which saw French artists Antoine and Manuel visit Adelaide from 2-21 October as the first participants. These artists are renowned for work which strongly reflects the vibrancy of France’s contemporary art scene.
While here, Antoine and Manuel worked to develop a video projection themed around the sea and marine environment, in collaboration with South Australian artists and cultural institutions. They will return to Adelaide to unveil the production around April 2018.
The French Artist-In-Residence program is being led by the Alliance Française d’Adelaide and Créative France SA, with the support of the French Embassy in Australia. The program is being hailed as another positive step forward in South Australia’s efforts to strengthen our cultural ties with France.
